MacintoshDOS is a macintosh emulation of MS-DOS 6.2. Its purpose is to show you what DOS is like, provided you don't know, or would like to find out how I see it. Now , if you really like MS-DOS then don't get offended by what you may find, if you do its your own fault, its like playing with Beelzebub.See what I mean? You probably don't. Anyhow it operates the same way DOS does , however it does not do all the really crappy comands that involve copying ect, its just a little thing that shows what is like, but of course its entirely interactive.
Its like navigating throughout a FTP site if that helps.
The commands MacintoshDos understands:
cd .-This will take you back one directory.
cd ..-this will also take you back one directory.
tree- this will show a file and folder tree of the current directory.
mem-displays the memory stuff like selecting "About this
macintosh".
exit or quit-quits MacintoshDOS.
cd +whatever directory-this goes into the directory specified, it must be typed with no uppercase letters and the same spelling as you see it. to change to a directory name GAMES you would type this: cd games and then hit return.
dir or dir/p- shows you whats in the current directory.
If you type the name of a file in all lowercase letters in the same spelling with the type begin .EXE then it will do the eqivalent of launching an application, the same way as in the real DOS.
The file entitled "ABOUT" is a file about the program and would be opened by just typing "about" at the C:/> prompt.
